Insurance Update
Why is your office making the insurance change?
We still accept your insurance but we are choosing to be out of network with Excellus due to the growing limitations. We want to continue offering top quality care without the restrictions from insurance. This allows the doctor to continue working with the best team, invest in the best product, and work with her exceptional team of lab technicians.
Can I still be seen?
Absolutely, nothing needs to change! You can still come here and continue getting the quality of care we believe in, without being limited by insurance restrictions. Many patients choose to stay because of the level of service and care they receive.
What does this mean for me?
While we continue to accept this insurance, your out-of-pocket expenses may be slightly different though in some cases they may not change at all. We’ll continue to help you maximize your annual benefits and submit everything for you—just like we always have! Excellus will reimburse you directly and send a check to your address on file.
Is it more expensive?
It can be a little different depending on your plan, but many patients find there is no change at all or the difference is less than expected—especially when you’re able to continue care somewhere you feel comfortable! Once again, we will still submit any treatment to your insurance and maximize your benefits.
Preventative Dental Care FAQs
How do I prevent cavities?
There are several ways in preventing cavities and improving your dental health:
- Be sure to check the sugar content in what you eat and drink.
- Reducing or eliminating sugary foods and/or sugary drinks can help reduce the risk of cavities.
- Brushing and flossing after every meal and using fluoride toothpaste are other helpful tips.
- If you have well water or have a filter that uses reverse osmosis, it can be very beneficial to use a special prescription toothpaste that your dentist can prescribe.
- Another preventative measure would be fluoride varnish treatments after your dental cleaning every 6 months.
